(Re)Birth of Venus

Nothing subtle about this one—it’s art, it’s attitude, it’s a whole damn mood. (Re)Birth of Venus takes classic beauty and drops her right into a beachy dreamscape. The Asian Gate pattern gives it structure, but the real magic is in the details: Tokyo Milk fabric, thrifted Venus on the Half Shell boardshorts, and a mix of goldfish and koi that feel like they’re swimming right off the fabric.

And yeah, there’s a nude woman front and center—because why not? If Botticelli can get away with it, so can we. The Oriental Clouds quilting gives the whole piece a flowing, organic feel, like waves rolling in. At 51” x 56”, it’s the perfect size to drape, display, or wrap yourself up like the goddess (or god) you are. Finished on June 4, 2020, but let’s be real—Venus is eternal.
