WE MAKE COOL SHIT

How rude of us to not introduce ourselves! Our names are Catherine and Estelle, and we are the founders of SPENCERMANON. Simply put, we are a mother-daughter duo with an unhealthy crafting obsession. Catherine, who has a background in basically everything art-related, and Estelle, who’s focus is business and sustainability, decided it was time to turn their creative hobbies into something meaningful.
NOT YOUR GRANNY'S QUILTS
Don’t get us wrong, we’re sure your Grandmother is an incredible quilter - we just took a slightly different route. Our quilts take a modern approach, and use a mix of premium fabrics, thrifted finds, and personal touches. Because of this, our quilts are truly “one-of-one” and cannot be replicated.
Along with this, we consider our quilts to be “functional art,” meaning you can use them however the f*ck you want! Whether that’s hanging them on the wall, putting them on your bed, taking them to the beach (yes we’ve actually done this), or letting your cat lay all over them (pictured) these pieces are meant to be loved and used!
As a mom-founded company, we have the utmost respect for Mother Earth. We know firsthand how tired she is of all the shit her kids (i.e., the human race) have put her through. That's why we repurpose pre-loved fabrics and materials whenever we can. We're always looking for new ways to respect the planet and encourage you to do the same!
Our approach to quilting is a tad unconventional. Whether its starting with a pattern and finding the perfect material to elevate it, or falling in love with a fabric and hunting for the right pattern to showcase it, we thrive on doing things the “wrong” way. Once we have our quilt blocks sewn together, we typically send them off to receive their finishing touches from a long arm quilter, who brings the piece together with a digital design or custom work.
WHAT WE DO & WHY WE DO IT
​We make really cool shit, and we teach other people how to make really cool shit too. Right now, our main obsession is quilting. We're all about pushing the boundaries of what quilting can be, using repurposed fabrics, thrifted gems, and forgotten scraps to turn old art into something new. Every piece we create has a story, and every workshop or pattern we share is an invitation for others to tell theirs. We’re here to celebrate creativity, sustainability, and the joy of making something truly original with your own two hands (and a sewing machine lol).
Besides our undying love for crafting, we created SPENCERMANON because crafting goes so much deeper than simply making something. Its a form of creativity, self-expression, and cultural representation. While our community has given us so much love, we've also experienced some not-so-nice responses to our art styles. Because of this, we wanted to create a space where people can make whatever they want. Ultimately, we believe that everyone has what it takes to make cool shit, and we're here to prove it.
